Sabeena Ahmed Liconte serves as the Head of Legal and Chief Compliance Officer for the Americas region at ICBC Standard Bank Group. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the legal and compliance functions for ICBC Standard's operations in the Americas, including its SEC-registered broker-dealer ICBC Standard Securities Inc. and its CFTC-registered introducing broker ICBC Standard Resources (America) Inc.
Before joining ICBC Standard, Liconte held various legal and compliance roles at other financial institutions, including Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer at an unnamed organization. Futures & Derivatives Counsel at E*TRADE Financial Corp.
Roles in the legal division at Merrill Lynch, the enforcement division at FINRA, and the legal division at Bank of New York Mellon. Liconte holds a Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University School of Law and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Columbia University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Political Science from the University of Toronto. In addition to her executive role, Liconte is actively involved in several industry associations and committees, including the Futures Industry Association's Law and Compliance Division, the ABA's Business Law Committee, and the New York City Bar Association's committees.
