Roland Scharrer

Roland Scharrer is the Group Chief Data, AI & Emerging Technology Officer at AXA. In this role, he is responsible for leveraging data, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies to drive innovation and digital transformation across the AXA Group. Scharrer has extensive experience in strategy, innovation, management, and technology. He leads the Group Emerging Technologies & Data (GETD) division at AXA, which provides the necessary framework for better data management and promotes the widespread deployment of emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, AI, Blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Under Scharrer's leadership, the GETD teams are heavily involved in shaping policy and safeguarding the future of technology, including Ethical AI at the European level. He is also a certified Corporate Data Protection Officer (GDDcert.). Scharrer's role is crucial in transforming AXA into a tech-led, customer-focused company that leverages data and emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions and enhance the customer experience.
