John Collison is a co-founder and the president of Stripe, a payment gateway. He and his brother Patrick came up with the idea for Stripe while still they were in college in Cambridge at MIT. In September 2019, Stripe raised a $250 million funding round with a valuation of $35 billion. The stripe's initial payment was processed while they were on vacation. Before Stripe, John co-founded Automatic, which was acquired by Live Current Media in March 2008. Originally from Limerick, Ireland, John lives in San Francisco, California, where Stripe is based.
