The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), was established on March 1, 1993, under the Securities Commission Act 1993 (SCA) to regulate and develop Malaysia's capital market. The mission is that securities markets are fair, efficient, secure, and transparent, while also promoting innovation and competition.
The SC makes and enforces market rules, supervises market activities and institutions, and regulates licensed entities under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. Their yearly presentation of its accounts to Parliament and reporting to the Minister of Finance demonstrate their dedication to transparency.
