Michael Chobanian is the Founder of Eastern Europe's first crowdfunded cryptocurrency platform called Xreserve. He is well known as the first Ukrainian crypto-banker and the originator of Ukraine's official Crypto Fund. Michael acquires 15+ years of telecommunications and Internet services management experience.

 

To popularise blockchain technologies and make crypto accessible, Michael launched the Kyiv-based KUNA Bitcoin Agency and the non-governmental organization Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine (BFU) in March 2014. Michael founded the world's fourth Bitcoin Embassy in September, and in 2015, he launched KUNA, the first Ukrainian public cryptocurrency exchange.

 

Currently, he serves as the president of the Blockchain Association of Ukraine, a non-profit organization dedicated to the integration of blockchain technologies into the Ukrainian economy in 2018. He announced Blockchain HUB at the world-famous Davos Economic Forum in January 2018, followed by the project's launch in March. Later that year, Michael founded the CryptoRous Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for and supporting Blockchain technology, as well as building a knowledge network and exploring the potential of the digital economy. The Cryptohryvnia (UAX) stablecoin was introduced by KUNA in February 2020, allowing users to convert Ukrainian national money into cryptocurrency.

 

Michael established the official Crypto Fund of Ukraine in February 2022, in partnership with the Ministries of Digital Transformation and Defense, to provide financial assistance to the Ukrainian army and people in the aftermath of the Russian invasion.
