Volker Schmits

The global AMERLLER Technology and Telecoms practice, chaired by Dr. Volker Schmits LL.M., assists telecoms, cable TV operators, and tech/media investors in all legal questions relating to strategic and operational aspects. In particular, Volker Schmits acquired in-depth knowledge of technical infrastructure projects combining media- and telecommunications law (transmission technology, frequency coordination, channel allocation, DRM/DAB, WIMAX, IPTV). Via its own offices in Bagdad, Erbil, and Basra AMERELLER has since many years been active in telecom projects both on an investment and tender level. Current clients in the Middle Eastern practice include tech ventures in the field of “distance viewing” (streaming, IPTV); Applicants for WIMAX frequencies; Distributor of GSM-tracking devices; and MVNO roll-out strategy for international brands.
