Stephen Pair is the co-founder and CEO of BitPay, the largest cryptocurrency payment processor in the world. Because he saw Bitcoin's potential to alter payments for businesses and consumers, Pair co-founded BitPay in 2011. As CEO, Pair oversees day-to-day operations as well as the company's long-term goal, which includes everything from research and engineering to product development and information technology.

He has 20 years of expertise in the finance and telecoms industries designing software solutions. He worked as an entrepreneur, architect, manager, team lead, and developer before launching BitPay. He began programming at a young age and devoted much of his early professional life to computer languages, compilers, operating systems, and virtual machines. Later, he became interested in the mechanics of financial markets, economics, and monetary systems, as well as cryptographic advancements. He possesses two patents in the field of streaming analytics and has a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

BitPay has added Ether (ETH) and XRP to its cryptocurrency list, as well as three stablecoins: USD Coin (USDC), Gemini Dollar (GUSD), and Paxos Standard Token (PAX).
