The International Frequency Sensor Association (IFSA) and Sensors Web Portal, Inc. also were founded by Professor Yurish, who also serves as their president (Canada). He serves as the chief editor of the IFSA Newsletter, Magazine (e-Digest), and Sensors & Transducers magazine. In his more than 25 years of research and academic expertise, Prof. Yurish has created several international initiatives within the frameworks of several programs, including NATO, FP6, and FP7.

He was the Head of the R&D Department in the Institute of Computer Technologies, UA from 1999-2002. Self-adaptive intelligent sensor systems, cutting-edge techniques for frequency measurements, and adaptive frequency-to-digital conversion are some of his areas of interest in the study. Plans call for research and advancements in platforms that integrate smart sensing systems. Three of Sergey Yurish's publications won Best Articles Awards from 2007 to 2009, and he also wrote a paper that won Best Paper at the 2009 2nd International Conference on Advances in Circuits, Electronics, and Microelectronics (CENICS) IARIA conference.
