John Watkinson is a computer scientist, software developer, artist, and co-creator of CryptoPunks. He founded Larva Labs along with Matt Hall in 2005, intending to pursue creative technology projects. John Watkinson was an early mobile developer, writing apps and games for some early smartphone platforms. Consequently, after creating several projects, his attention has turned to blockchain and the promise it carries for digital permanence and scarcity.
John has also created Autoglyphs along with Matt Hall, which is the first completely on-chain generative art NFT project, and many other creative and varied non-blockchain applications including the largest open source repository of legal documents that they started at an overnight hackathon.
