Natalie Baatjies

Natalie Baatjies, currently serving as the Head of Cross Border Payments at MTN South Africa, made a significant impact when her team launched outbound remittances in September 2023. The service empowers customers to send money to more than 200 million wallets in 24 countries across Africa. Natalie’s journey at MTN began in 2019, where she served as Senior Group Fintech Product and Strategy Manager. Before joining MTN, Natalie held executive positions at pioneering fintechs, Oradian and Fundamo. She is the former Senior Director for Financial Inclusion at Visa in the MEA region. Her consultancy work extended to the IFC DFS Advisory and FinMark Trust where she conducted a research study on the SADC Interoperable switch (now TCIB) in 2016.
