Marnix van Stiphout was appointed as a member of the Management Board Banking, chief operations officer (COO), and chief transformation officer on 1 September 2021. In his role, he is responsible for translating the defined ING and respective business line strategies (Retail and Wholesale Banking) into a strategy for the operations function, and overseeing proper implementation thereof: Define and execute sourcing and shared services strategy Data Protection Executive Lead data management, operational design/control/resilience, KYC operations, digitalization/STP, global analytics and process management. Manage and execute bank-wide transformation and decide on related budget releases, in line with ING’s strategy. Marnix joined ING in 1998 and held several positions. Marnix holds a master’s degree in economics from Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam and a master’s degree in financial economics from London Metropolitan University. Marnix is married and has two boys. He is a keen runner, likes skiing, and enjoys music.
