Marion King

Marion King is the current Chair and Trustee of Open Banking Ltd., the national body set up by the Competition and Markets Authority in the UK. She was appointed as the new Chair and Trustee of the Open Banking Implementation Entity, succeeding Charlotte Crosswell, effective from February 1, 2023. As Chair and Trustee, King is responsible for leading the organization that oversees the implementation of Open Banking in the UK, which aims to give customers more control over their financial data and enable them to move, manage, and make more of their money. Before this role, Marion King served as the President of Mastercard UK and Ireland, bringing extensive experience in the payments and financial services industry to her position at Open Banking. Open Banking has enabled over 8 million UK customers and businesses to benefit from the new services and capabilities enabled by open banking technology. King's appointment underscores the importance of Open Banking and the need for experienced leadership to drive its continued adoption and development in the UK financial sector.
