MacBrennan Peet is the Co-founder of MarginFi, a DeFi-native global clearing house protocol built on the Solana blockchain. Peet has a background in traditional finance, including experience at Morgan Stanley and as the founder of the hedge fund Katalpa Capital Management. At MarginFi, Peet leads the growth team and institutional relationships for the protocol. Peet has been described as embracing online controversy, including releasing a video of himself shirtless and saying "wen token" in December 2023. This controversial persona has also made MarginFi some enemies in the Solana DeFi ecosystem. When MarginFi's CEO Edgar Pavlovsky resigned in April 2024, Peet was identified as a potential candidate to take over the leadership of the protocol. Peet has defended MarginFi against accusations from other Solana protocols, claiming that recent withdrawal issues were due to chain congestion and user safety concerns, not wrongdoing by MarginFi
