Kristian Kostal

Kristian Košťál is an Assistant Professor and the leader of the Blockchain & FinTech research lab at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (FIIT STU). His research focus includes the scalability of blockchain technologies, anti-money laundering techniques, distributed systems, data mining, machine learning, smart contracts, NFTs, blockchain interoperability, privacy, and security in blockchains and cryptocurrencies. Košťál has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications, monographs, and registered patents related to blockchain, fintech, and cybersecurity. He has participated as a leader and solver in over 15 international research projects, with a focus on technology transfer, network performance, software-defined networking, IoT, and blockchain applications. Košťál is actively involved in the blockchain community in Slovakia, contributing his expertise in areas like blockchain interoperability, tokenization, and metaverse approaches. He has also been involved in teaching blockchain and fintech-related courses and providing advisory services through the FIIT STU Blockchain & FinTech research lab.
