Kandice Machado

Kandice Machado is the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC). She has been with the AGLC since 2002 and has held various roles in multiple divisions, including her most recent position as AGLC's Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer. Kandice is recognized for her expertise in financial management, solution-focused financial advice, and planning in complex business environments. Her leadership has contributed to the AGLC's support for the gaming, liquor, and cannabis industries in Alberta, promoting a thriving business environment and productive regulations. Kandice has been recognized by CPA Alberta with a Distinguished Award for her commitment to doing her best work for Albertans. The AGLC is currently seeking a Senior Manager for Corporate Planning & Performance, which is a role that collaborates with Enterprise Risk Management and Financial Planning & Analysis to execute the organization's Strategic Planning Framework. Under Kandice's leadership, the AGLC has made significant revenue from cannabis sales, gaming, and alcohol and liquor sales. In 2023, the AGLC made $618.9 million in revenue from cannabis sales, $1.9 billion in sales from gaming, and $850.4 million in revenue from alcohol and liquor. The AGLC operates following the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act, the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Regulation, and the Criminal Code. Kandice has over 20 years of experience in financial management and is committed to supporting modern regulation while balancing responsible choices for Albertans. She has been appointed to a five-year term as AGLC's President & CEO, having served the last 10 months as acting President & CEO
