Jihan Wu, a cryptocurrency entrepreneur along with Micree Zhan, co-founded Bitmain in 2013, which has become the world's largest computer chip company for bitcoin mining. He is a leading supporter of Bitcoin Cash. Wu was born in 1986 in Chongqing, China. After graduating from Chongqing Nankai Secondary School, he entered Peking University, earning dual degrees in economics and psychology.

After graduating, Wu served as a monetary expert for a private value firm. In May 2011, he founded Bitcoin and raised 100,000 yuan from loved ones to buy 900 bitcoins. He and  Bitcoin devotee Chang Jia established Babite China's first Bitcoin local area site. In late 2011, he was quick to interpret Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin white paper into Chinese. In 2012, he put resources into the bitcoin mining organization ASICMINER, one of the principal organizations that delivered ASIC that is utilized to mine Bitcoin overall which was helped to establish by Fried. 

 In Hurun Report's debut Blockchain Rich List 2018, Wu was named the second most extravagant digital money business visionary in China, with expected total assets of 16.5 billion yuan (US$2.39 billion), behind just Micree Zhan. Hurun likewise positioned him as the 204th most extravagant individual in China. At the same time, he was positioned No. 3 in Fortune's The Ledger 40 under 40, for changing business at the main edge of money and technology.
