Jason Lee, the founder, and CEO of Hollywood Unlocked:Jason Lee was born on August 16, 1977, in Stockton, California. He is of African-American and mixed European (Italian, Greek) descent. Lee's older brother was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting when Lee was 15 years old.He moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and worked as a labor union director until 2009. Lee gained popularity through his recurring appearances on the reality TV show "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" from 2015-2018. He also became a cast member on the sketch comedy show "Wild 'N Out" alongside Nick Cannon.In 2015, Lee founded the media company and website Hollywood Unlocked. Hollywood Unlocked started as a blog and podcast, featuring interviews with celebrities and commentary on pop culture and entertainment news. The platform has grown to include a syndicated TV show, "Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee", which airs on Fox Soul and iHeartRadio.Under Lee's leadership, Hollywood Unlocked has become a prominent Black-owned media brand, valued at over $50 million as of 2023. From March to October 2022, Lee served as the Head of Media and Partnerships for Kanye West (now known as Ye).In this role, he consulted on the release of Ye's "Donda 2" album and the Yeezy Gap partnership. In 2023, Lee announced a campaign to run for the Stockton, California city council, focusing on community issues like food deserts and youth programs.
