He believes people just want to own Bitcoin; they want to have it in their noncustodial wallet where they control the private key. That’s the number one use case of Moonpig at present: they want to own the actual Bitcoin, which is provided by him and his team to physically deliver the Bitcoin on-chain. His goal is to connect every single legacy payment method across the world. He is ambitious enough to support every single part of the globe. He believes in going to tend to zero, but the problem is Bitcoin, which has a high network fee, and Ethereum, which has a gas fee. There are a lot of different things being done to try to improve the scalability of these blockchains.
He purchased the first Bitcoin back in college. One of his friends wrote his thesis on Bitcoin, and that’s what convinced him to buy it for the first time. He didn't pay much attention to it. Later in 2017, he began in the face again, after he was in a portfolio construction gig at Reddington. He quit his job to start his first startup in 2015 and was trying to solve savings. He wanted to take all his knowledge and help people save their money, then invest their money. That was an interesting journey for him. Graduated from The George Washington University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Science and Economics, and at the University of Oxford, gained knowledge in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
