Dr. Sidi Ould Tah was appointed as the President of BADEA in 2016. BADEA is a regional development finance institution established by the member states of the Arab League to promote economic, financial, and technical cooperation between Arab and African countries. Before his role at BADEA, Dr. Ould Tah held various senior positions in the Mauritanian government, including serving as the Minister of Economy and Finance, and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Development. He has extensive experience in the field of development finance, having worked at institutions such as the Mauritanian Bank for Development and Commerce, the Food Security Commission, the Nouakchott Port Authority, and the Arab Authority for Agriculture, Investment and Development (AAAID).Dr. Ould Tah has also held positions at the Islamic Development Bank, where he served as an Investment Promotion Officer and Technical Assistant to the President.He has participated in training programs at prestigious institutions like Harvard Institute for International Development, London Business School, and Swiss Finance Institute, focusing on areas such as investment, leadership, asset management, and financial engineering. As the President of BADEA, Dr. Ould Tah is responsible for leading the bank's efforts to promote economic, financial, and technical cooperation between Arab and African countries, with a focus on supporting development projects and initiatives across the African continent.
