Greg Smith

Greg Smith is a seasoned executive and visionary leader, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of IP Group. Greg’s passion for encouraging innovation that can help solve many of the world’s challenges has been a driving factor in his career over the past two decades. As CEO, he is deeply committed to delivering the Group’s strategy by backing and growing science-based businesses that support a healthier, tech-enriched, regenerative future.

Greg was appointed Chief Executive Officer and had previously been IP Group's Chief Financial Officer. He has more than 2 decades of experience in financial services and has significant investment management experience, having served on various of the Group’s investment committees as well as the Group’s FCA-authorised subsidiaries.

Before IP Group, Greg worked at Tarchon Capital Management, a multi-billion dollar fund of hedge funds business where he built and managed the operations and accounting team and the operational due diligence process for investee hedge funds.
