Erik was an investor and he is an American startup founder. He is also co-founder of bitcoin company catapult, he has worked as director of marketing BitInstant and was founder and owner of the bitcoin gambling website Satoshi Dice. Along with the bitcoin company, he is also the founder and former CEO of catapult. Coinapult is a company that transfers bitcoin through SMS and Email. He previously founded Satoshi dice. Satoshi Dice company has been criticized for its high level of gambling traffic, which vastly increased the amount of data stored in the bitcoin “blockchain”
He sold Satoshi Dice in July 2013 to an investor for 126,315 bitcoins which was valued at $11.5 million and described it as the first big bitcoin for selling unregistered securities. Voorhees was investigated by the SEC for their involvement with the salt Lending platform’s initial coin offering and the SEC investigated to know that he is serving on Salt’s board violated the terms of his earlier settlement 2014with the SEC.
He is also a founder and CEO of ShapeShift, a Bitcoin and altcoin trade that he created and oversaw under the alias Beorn Gonthier until March 2015, when he uncovered his job in the organization as a component and a seed gathering pledges declaration. Some of his business operations have resulted in penalties and legal troubles with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States.
