David Zhang is the founder and former director of BTCBOX, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Japan. He established the company in March 2014 with an initial capital of 5 million yen. Under Zhang's leadership, BTCBOX grew to become one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan. Key milestones include the commencement of BTC and LTC trading in April 2014.Monthly bitcoin trading volume exceeding 500,000 BTC in July 2015. Launching BCH trading, the first in Japan, in August 2017Completing cryptocurrency exchange registration in September 2017. In March 2019, Zhang transferred all his BTCBOX shares to the parent company TTXHoldings Co., Ltd. which he also founded. The current CEO of BTCBOX is Harutoshi Tsuji. Before BTCBOX, Zhang held positions at Amazon as a software engineer and at Brown University as a technology project manager. He graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science in 2016.
