Telkom University is one of Indonesia's most famous and cutting-edge private universities. Telkom University is concentrating on ICT-based education and research in the fields of engineering, business, and the creative sector as a result of the rapid growth of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and the cultural variety of Indonesia. On August 14, 2013, Telkom University was established through the merger of four higher education schools owned by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, the largest telecommunications company under the government of Indonesia. The grand launching was conducted on August 31, 2013, by Professor Mohammad Nuh, Minister of Education and Culture, Dr. Arief Yahya, CEO of Telkom Group, and Johni Girsang, M.Sc., Chairman of Telkom Foundation. Six years after its founding, Telkom University has grown into a top-tier institution with 31 programs (departments) for undergraduate and graduate study, 7 faculties (schools), and the motto "Creating the Future". They are knowledgeable in a variety of fields, including engineering, management, applied technology, art and design, telecommunication, business, communication, arts, and design, informatics, computer science, industry, information systems, ICT, hospitality, and tourism.
