The National Retail Federation is the world's largest retail trade association that represents the US retail industry. The organization serves as a unified voice for retailers, industry partners, educational institutions, and international retail associations. The National Retail Dry Goods Association was launched in 1911. In 1958, it was renamed the National Retail Merchants Association (NRMA). In 1990, the NRMA merged with the American Retail Federation (ARF) to form the National Retail Federation (NRF). It is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and actively participates in advocacy, research, education, and industry events. It is well-known for arranging big retail events such as the NRF Retail's Big Show in New York and delivering industry insights through research and data analysis.
