The MIT Bitcoin Club is organized by ug and pg students who are interested in bitcoin and cryptocurrency initiatives and endeavours. It is the world's first blockchain club, established to educate members on the fundamentals and newest developments in blockchain technology. A place to study, discuss and develop Bitcoin-related studies, ideas, and initiatives.

 

Bitcoin has the potential to be more than simply a digital currency; it has the potential to be the currency of the future. While it is still in its early stages, Bitcoin has the potential to be a system or platform for conducting and verifying financial and non-financial transactions as part of a worldwide public ledger. Bitcoin sits at the crossroads of several key academic fields, including cryptography, distributed computing, graph theory, finance, and economics, to name a few. The platform aims to provide platforms for the study, discussion, and development of Bitcoin-related ideas, initiatives, programs, events, and enterprises. Bitcoin aims to raise understanding and use of Bitcoin both within and outside the MIT community through club activities.
