Filecoin Foundation is an independent organization that facilitates network governance, funds critical development projects, promotes the growth of the Filecoin ecosystem, and advocates for Filecoin and the decentralized web. The Foundation organizes and supports the development of open-source software and open protocols for decentralized data storage and retrieval networks. The foundation mission's key role is to find ways for the Filecoin community to solve the problems we face as a community and help facilitate collective action. Filecoin Foundation was established by Clara Tsao in the year 2020. The Filecoin Foundation also supports a vibrant, decentralized ecosystem with many independent organizations that provide funding, coordination, and leadership to support Filecoin's long-term success. Leaders from the web3 and open-source technology communities have come together to foster the Filecoin ecosystem, led by an extraordinary and accomplished group of advisors.
