Ethereum Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Zug, Switzerland that supports Ethereum and related technologies. It was established in 2014 by Gavin Wood, Anthony Di Iorio, Joseph Lubin, Charles Hoskinson, Vitalik Buterein, and Mihai Alisie. They want to support the Ethereum ecosystem rather than leading or controlling it. It hosts Devcon, an annual Ethereum developer, researcher, and community member conference. Ethereum Foundation mainly aims to ensure the long-term success of Ethereum and empower the developers to build next-generation decentralized applications and protocols.
