It was founded in 2013, quickly gained popularity, and is said to be the most trusted crypto price-tracking platform. CoinMarketCap Acquisition:

 

In April 2020, Binance acquired CoinMarketCap. The merger allowed Binance exchange’s infrastructure to be combined with market information and ratings from CoinMarketCap, giving Binance an advantage over the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem. However, even after the merger, Binance stated that CoinMarketCap will run independently.
