The Axelar Network combines a decentralized network that connects blockchain ecosystems that use various languages with an API suite that makes it simple for applications to execute cross-chain queries. The network ties together current standalone blockchains like Bitcoin, Stellar, Terra, and Algorand as well as interoperability hubs like Cosmos, Avalanche, Ethereum, and Polkadot. The aim is to make it simpler for application developers to create these apps by providing a universal protocol and API rather than deploying their cross-chain proprietary protocols or rewriting existing ones as new bridges are created.
