Camila Russo began working for Bloomberg News as an intern in September 2010. She subsequently worked for Bloomberg Buenos Aires for four years as an emerging markets correspondent, especially covering FX and debt in Argentina, where she first learned about Bitcoin. She was looking at methods investors could protect themselves from inflation after the restriction on Argentines purchasing US dollars, and she discovered local groups buying cryptocurrencies.

Russo is a significant figure in the Ethereum story who is seeking to shape and popularise it. The Infinite Machine, published in 2019, was the conclusion of Russo's longstanding dream to write a captivating long-form nonfiction story. It has received a lot of attention from both inside and beyond the blockchain world. Inspired by authors such as Truman Capote and Michael Lewis, she'd finally found a story worth telling in Ethereum — one that many other writers had passed by.

Russo plans to expand The Defiant into a world-class media platform capable of spreading the word about decentralised money in 2021. But, aside from the newspaper where she is the "Chiefess," what about her own work?

Consider Capote and Lewis, Russo's avowed inspirations, who were and continue to be prolific writers, seldom going more than three years without a major publication. Aside from the Defiant, Russo is very certainly due for another book deal, and we could see a full hardcover on DeFi by the end of the year.
