Cameron Winklevoss is the Co-Founder and President of Gemini. He is an American Bitcoin and cryptocurrency investor, entrepreneur, Olympic rower, and founder of Winklevoss Capital Management, a firm that invests across numerous asset classes with a focus on providing infrastructure and seed funding to early-stage startups, headquartered in Flatiron, New York. He is well-known for co-founding HarvardConnection, later named ConnectU, a social networking website launched in May 2004.
Besides ConnectU, he founded the social media website Guest of a Guest with Rachelle Hruska. Winklevoss won a bronze medal at the Rowing World Cup in the men’s coxless four event based in Lucerne, Switzerland in 2009. Cameron and his brother Tyler are listed as the main heroes in the 2019 novel named Bitcoin Billionaires: A True Story of Genius, Betrayal, and Redemption, written by Ben Mezrich, tracing the twin brothers' journey into the ever-growing world of cryptocurrency, encountering early adopters and investing in bitcoin.
