Arthur Yuen

Arthur Yuen currently oversees banking policy, supervision, conduct, and enforcement issues at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), a role he has held since January 2010. He joined HKMA in 1996 as Head of Administration and quickly advanced, tackling roles related to research and economic liaison with China before being appointed Head of Banking Supervision in 2000. His journey through the ranks continued with his appointments as Executive Director of Banking Development (2004), Banking Supervision (2005), and External Affairs (2008). Arthur is a prominent figure in global banking regulation, serving on the Financial Stability Board’s (FSB) Standing Committee on Supervisory and Regulatory Cooperation. He has been a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision since March 2010 and chairs its Policy and Standards Group (PSG), following his leadership of the Supervision and Implementation Group (SIG) from September 2018 to December 2020.
